The Other Spanish Steps

One of the things that really bothers me is that when you type 'Spanish Steps' into a search engine you actually get results for the Scalinata di Spagna. This is Italian for Spanish Steps. These steps, pictured below, were built in the 18th century and are supposedly the longest and widest steps in Europe. So, 138 stairs are now more famous than me, but we can change that.

Two things. First, the more mares that you breed to me, the more winners you will have and the more famous I will become. This should move me up the Google search engine list. Second, the first person to call Eddie Martin at 317-658-9021 with the correct answer to my question will receive 10% off of  my regular stand and nurse fee for 2012. The question is two part, what singer/songwriter references these stairs in a 1971 classic song? And, what is the name of the song?
